Yes, I agree. We absolutely do NOT need another social media platform. So this isnโt one.
As our name suggests, the focus here is on being local. Not that the rest of the world isnโt important, but there are already countless platforms relentlessly dedicated to keeping you scrolling through everything happening elsewhere. We want to be something different: a space that encourages real conversations and local connections, with in-person social events that bring us together, not apart. A place that remembers the initial promise of the internet: to improve our lives through shared information and genuine storytelling.
Anything in excess becomes toxic, but you shouldnโt need to completely disconnect from the online world to feel productive or at peace. Our goal is to create balance, to narrow our focus, deepen our understanding, and strengthen our bond with the community around us. Because real change starts here. And a world that understands each other has a better chance of thriving together.
Cali should become a prime example of this. A warm, welcoming people and caretakers of a rich and beautiful city thatโs attracting more attention from tourists, nomads, and expats every day. With that growth comes the risk of gentrification and resentment, but we know better, so we should do better.
This space is meant to be an open channel between locals and visitors, an interactive logbook for the cultural history and customs that deserve to be expressed, experienced, and preserved.
